History
The aircraft was delivered on April 23rd, 1937 to Ryan dealer O.J. Whitney, and then sold to customer Lehigh Aircraft Company. They used it for secondary training of pilots from the Lehigh University of Bethlehem, PA.
About 1941 Robery S. Baber purchased the airplane for $2500.00. He used it for pleasure and then sold it to George J. Scheder who in turn sold it in January 1942 to Arthur C. Hyde.
Records indicate that in 1944 the airplane was serviced by the Gillis Flying Service of Billings, Montana. It is not known if the aircraft was owned by them or just being serviced by the company for either Valley Airways, or Embry-Riddle. Next owner was Charles E. King who sold it about 1946 to Robert Heidel. It was last owned by the Embry –Riddle School of Aviation. On April 11th, 1946 while being flown by a student pilot it crashed on landing. The students name is not known. The aircraft was supposedly scrapped. No other details are known. Could still exist.
